Move along, not a whole lot to see here.

At long last, Microsoft fanchildren can grasp firmly to the idea that yes indeed, the Xbox 360 is more powerful than the PS3. At least that's what the latest round of conjecture purport to be true. The Inquirer has the latest on the situation:

...An nVidia spokesperson was quoted in PlayStation Magazine saying that the RSX GPU is basically a slightly less powerful GeForce 7800.This puts paid to the rumours that the RSX was basically an off-the-shelf 7800 chipset, though the big news is in the "RSX is slightly less powerful" part of the statement. If one was to do some quick graphics card math, this would mean that the RSX chip powering the PlayStation 3 is less powerful than two GeForce 6800's running in SLI mode ?as the 7800 is ?and according to Microsoft and ATi, the Xbox 360 GPU is more powerful than the same SLI combo.

I think it's quite fair to say that most of us have lost interest in the hardware talk surrounding this next wave of consoles. There aren't enough details yet to put together a clear picture of who will be coming out on top in this race, so there's no point in the hairpulling. Besides, the article goes on to say that the EA Sports title, Fight Night: Round 3 will look exactly the same on either system so noone need worry. To once again state the almost-a-cliche-yet-we-still-have-three-and-a-half-months-to-go - It's the games people.
