Milton Keynes, England, September 12th, 2005 - Elitegroup Computer Systems (UK) Ltd (ECS), today announced availability of its PA1 Extreme and KA1 Extreme, ATI CrossFire motherboards.
Built from the ground up for gaming enthusiasts, the PA1 Extreme and KA1 Extreme motherboards are built on the latest ATI Radeon XPress 200 CrossFire chipsets for both AMD and Intel, supporting ATI CrossFire technology and delivering an unprecedented graphics experience. CrossFire harnesses the power of two graphics cards to render high-definition 3D gaming. ECS has developed and enhanced the boards with an exciting feature: Scalable D.G.E., which produces increased, supercharged 3D graphics performance and supports simultaneous display on up to four devices (D.G.E) when connected to two independent graphics cards. The added benefit of Scalable D.G.E. over ECS already established D.G.E technology is that it can also leverage ATI CrossFire technology which enables two PCI Express-based graphics cards connected together to work effectively in tandem to enhance overall graphics performance. Not to limit the users configuration options, the technology allows for any single PCI Express graphics card to be used where the need for a dual card set-up is not required. The KA1 Extreme supports Socket 939 Athlon 64 FX/Athlon 64 CPU and System Bus 2000 MT/s. Based on AMD64 technology, the AMD Athlon 64 processor family brings unparalleled multimedia performance and high addressable memory. It not only produces superior visuals and sound effects for an incredible gaming experience, but also it provides unmatched PC storage, security and overall system performance. Engineered with the latest technology, the KA1 Extreme delivers faster processing speed, greater storage and higher transfer rates. Additionally, Advanced dual-core and 64-bit technology is incorporated to increase computing capabilities which reflects a shift to better responsiveness and higher multithreaded throughput. eSATA and Port Multiplier allow cost-effective and expanded drive scalability to storage systems. SATAII and NCQ double the transfer speed up to 3.0Gb/s and enable efficient retrieval of data. Moreover, the board accommodates unique I.O.C. (Instant Overclocking Controller), which intelligently detects system load and instantly boosts frequency to enhance overall performance. The PA1 Extreme, the other ECS ATI CrossFire Ready motherboard, supports LGA775 socket Pentium 4 as well as Pentium D CPUs and FSB 1066 MHz. Also engineered to support all the exceptional features mentioned above, the PA1 Extreme supports DDR2 667 memory architecture and high-performance RAID as well.
Availability
