Juicy details for Revolution hardware and games promised by May 2006

That a console manufacturer would use E3 as the springboard for launching new console details is hardly new these days, but it will be more than a little heartening for Nintendo fans to know that the company is finally committed to filling in the rest of the blanks regarding their next-gen Revolution console at next May's show.

"The briefing, which is scheduled to take place on May 9 at 9.30am, will be held in Hollywood's Kodak Theatre - the same venue as the Academy Awards. In a statement, Nintendo promised that the event will 'reveal all the incredible details about Nintendo's upcoming games and hardware, including our next home console.'"

At this rate a Revolution release doesn't appear likely until sometime quite late into 2006, perhaps after Sony launches their PlayStation 3 console.?Hopefully a clearer launch timeframe will emerge come next May, but perhaps at that point gamers will be more interested in seeing actual gameplay using the new Revolution controller.
