Far Cry v1.3My new Far Cry test is a large outdoor run-through, covering heavy vegetation and a fast pace.
X800 256MB hands 6600 GT its ass in Far Cry. Memory pressure at 1600x1200 doesn't help, the NVIDIA board with half the framebuffer size. X850 PRO and 6800 GT trade blows, neither the overall victor. Far Cry exerts heavy pressure on fragment hardware and texture cache reuse for large textures. Overall, the more theoretical shader power and basic texturing ability the better.
