So you have your new motherboard, your new processor, and the rest of the components for your next system, but you have yet to pick out a PCI Express video card. This is a position I recently found myself in and if you are anything like me, this will be the hardest choice for your new system. Like many other users I have serious reservations about spending what it takes to buy a top-shelf video card, like a 6800 or X850- I just can't justify the added expense for the amount of gaming that I do. I generally find myself buying mid-range cards, like ATI's Radeon 9600XT, and others in that general price range.
The time of the 9600 has come and gone and now its time to invest in a PCIe card. I found myself torn between the 6600 GT and the X700 Pro. The 6600 GT seems to be the gamer's choice but the X700 Pro is generally cheaper and is said to be a pretty solid performer. This was not going to be an easy call- I think I feel a review coming along...
