Test Setup
The Ennyah PCX 6600 is rather unusual, with its 500MHz DDR memory speed compared to the 550MHz found on the reference NVIDIA GeForce 6600. Therefore, the most obvious candidate for our comparison would be the reference board, as we are sure readers would be most concerned about the performance of the Ennyah card given its memory frequency handicap. As we have previously done an in-depth performance review of the GeForce 6600 GPU, interested readers should refer to that article here for more benchmarks that show the performance of the GeForce 6600 alongside its nearest rivals.
Our usual PCI Express test bed for this review consisted of an Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz Extreme Edition CPU together with Intel's D925XCV motherboard and 1GB of DDR2-533 (Micron) memory running in dual channel mode. The operating system was Microsoft Windows XP Professional patched with Service Pack 2 and using DirectX 9.0c. NVIDIA's ForceWare 66.81 drivers were used for both NVIDIA cards in the comparison. The following benchmarks were used:
Futuremark 3DMark03 (ver. 340) Futuremark 3DMark05 (ver. 120) Unreal Tournament 2004 Demo GunMetal Demo FarCry 1.1 Doom 3
