ConclusionATi has brought two very similarly performing chipsets to the table with their X800 GT and GTO cards. In the case of the HIS examples, the GTO is certainly the stronger part, since it overclocks to the same speed, and offers an extra quad of pipelines, giving it a considerable advantage in the most demanding titles. In the vast majority of games, the X800 GT and GTO set a new mid-range benchmark. The 6600 GT had its turn as the best bang for buck ?and a very good innings it was ?but if you have ?40 to blow on a new video card, you cant do better than the HIS X800 GTO. With iTurbo ratified overclocking features, a whisper quiet cooler that is far more effective than the stock units and a great bundle, HIS have another winning product.

Highs - Excellent value for money - Super quiet cooling solution - Exceptional overclocking - High end performance at a mid range price - Excellent bundle - Superb presentation
Lows - nVIDIA still holds the Doom 3 (and therefore Quake 4) performance advantage - Limited lifespan? ?the GTs are already tough to find
