Latest Market Share Numbers from Mercury Research and Jon Peddie Research Show NVIDIA GPU Market Share on the Rise

LONDON ?FEBRUARY 2ND, 2005 ?NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced that its GeForce?6 graphics processing units (GPUs) for desktop and mobile PCs have won over 150 editorial awards and have achieved a marked increase in unit sales. This momentum is the result of technology innovations, performance and compatibility with today's hottest games.

According to Mercury Research, from the third quarter to the fourth quarter of calendar year 2004, NVIDIA achieved a quarter-to-quarter unit growth increase of over 20% for total GPU unit shipments, which included an increase of 25.9% in mobile GPU sales. According to the report, NVIDIA holds 67% of the Microsoft?DirectX?9.0 performance GPU market share and 53% of the overall DirectX 9.0 GPU market share.

An additional report released Monday by leading research firm Jon Peddie Research is consistent with the Mercury Research results, stating that NVIDIA's desktop GPU shipments increased 21.6% from the third quarter to the fourth quarter of calendar year 2004. The report also noted that NVIDIA grew its shipments of mobile GPUs more than 25% during the same period and increased its segment share more than three points, to 25.7%

?NVIDIA had a solid foundation to build on after the introduction of the GeForce 6 family and our strategy of delivering the industry's most advanced feature set in a top-to-bottom product line-up for both the desktop and mobile markets is paying off,?said Dan Vivoli, executive vice president of marketing at NVIDIA. ?The quarterly market share data, the awards, and product of the year honours, along with the incredible support from our partners are all clear indicators of broad market acceptance of this product family.?br />
GeForce 6 GPUs deliver the most comprehensive feature set combined with technical innovations, including:
NVIDIA SLI?(Scalable Link Interface) multi-GPU technology
Support for Microsoft?DirectX?9.0 Shader Model 3.0
NVIDIA PureVideo?high-definition video processing technology
NVIDIA TurboCache?technology for rendering direct to system memory
Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM) to lower the time to market for new mobile GPUs
