NVIDIA looks to significantly increase its notebook presence with GeForce 6 series. One of the traditional strongholds for ATI products is the notebook sector but it looks like NVIDIA is going aggressively after a bigger piece of ATI's cake with the GeForce 6 series
Nvidia is anticipating that its share of the notebook graphics-processing-unit (GPU) market, worldwide, will hit 40% in the first quarter of 2006, rising from 25% in the fourth quarter of last year. The launch of its GeForce Go 6600 mobile GPU series is expected to drive this growth, according to the company.
Those are some pretty aggressive numbers that NVIDIA is tossing out there. It is interesting to note that a Mercury Report in October showed that NVIDIA has almost no presence in the low end which is something that some of their newer products such as the 6200 TC should help remedy.Article Link: NVIDIA looks to notebooks for increased growth
