XFX, a division of PINE U.S.A., has partnered with NetCell Corporation to sell storage adapter cards based on NetCell's SyncRAID technology for high-performance gaming and rich-media PC applications. Offering consumer and professional PC users high-end storage performance using cost-effective drives, NetCell's SyncRAID technology also eliminates the need for special host drivers while delivering enterprise-class protection for hard-to-replace data and other rich-media content.

According to Lionel Garcia, XFX's director of sales, "Our partnership with NetCell is a logical extension of XFX's main goal, which is to bring superior XFX products to all desktop users in the graphics card spectrum. We also see this as a strategic opportunity to enhance our users' overall computer performance, which is of paramount importance."

XFX's partnership with NetCell mirrors similar partnerships with companies like nVidia that enable XFX to bring cutting-edge technology to the PC-user base. "We are excited to be partnering with XFX, a company that has built a solid reputation for offering best-of-breed digital video components and other workstation and gaming hardware at affordable prices," said Andy Mills, president and chief executive officer for NetCell. "XFX has consistently created leading-edge technologies for the upgrade market. Now, NetCell and XFX are helping to help create a new class of storage products that deliver breakthrough performance along with automatic data protection at consumer price points."

XFX will offer a new family of SyncRAID-based ATA and Serial-ATA storage accelerator PCI adaptor cards that enable PC users to both secure data and enhance their PC's performance. SyncRAID cards feature a revolutionary new 64-bit RAID engine that, for the first time, offers a mainstream RAID solution with the simultaneous benefits of both RAID O-Class performance and RAID 5-Class data protection. The 3- and 5-port cards will be priced starting at $179.99 up to $249.99 MSRP. They will be sold through authorized XFX distributors Ingram Micro and D&H, and authorized resellers Tigerdirect.com and Pro Max.

SyncRAID is specifically designed to overcome the limitations of traditional RAID technology and provide a solution for today's demanding storage environments, offering the fastest available ATA and Serial-ATA storage performance for bandwidth-intensive desktop, workstation and media server applications.

The SyncRAID technology uses patented ATA protocol emulation techniques to make a full-parity stripe RAID drive set appear to any standard ATA or SATA device as one large drive. Users can create a 1.2-terabyte array based on the latest drive technology, creating a fully protected, plug-and-play storage solution without the complication of special host drivers or the performance degradation of CPU overhead.

Users also can quickly and easily increase storage capacity, performance, and protection capabilities, as needed. For more information about XFX's SyncRAID-based storage adapter cards please visit www.xfxforce/netcell
