Via, SiS and ULI enjoy growth in chipset sales as Intel cuts low end chipset productionAs Intel reduces shipping low end chipsets, Via, SiS and ULi report growth in July revenues which they expect to keep increasing for the rest of the year.
SiS?may see a 30% increase in the third quarter, with?Via and ULi seeing an increase of 20%. In the first half of the year, SiS showed profits of NT$434 whereas they lost money in the same period last year. SiS's margins are also up 9.5% from 23.9% to 33.4%
Via will be relasing a new PCIe compatible chipset, allowing it to take some market share from SiS which is having tight supply problems with PCIe chipsets.
ULi is supplying Southbridge chips for ATI Northbridge based motherboards; Southbridge sales account for approx. 20% of ULi's revenues, with K8 chipsets accounting for 50%.
