Test Setup
The testbed used included Vista Ultimate 32-bit, Nvidia 177.19 video drivers, and the latest F3B BIOS from Gigabyte. The CPU was run at 3.0GHz and the memory run at 1333MHz with 6-6-6-18-2T timings at 1.9v. For the stock runs I used the Intel QX9650 stock heatsink and for the overclocked runs I used a K|ngp|n F1 Extreme Edition with liquid nitrogen. For the max FSB the 1:1 divider was utilized with 10-10-10-30-2T timings to remove the memory from being a bottleneck. Vcore was kept at 1.2v for the default tests, 1.425v for the air-cooled overclocked results, and 1.85v for the liquid nitrogen overclocked results. The 8800GT was run at its stock speed of 700MHz core, 1680MHz shaders, and 920MHz memory.
