Intel DH55TC and Test System
The Intel DH55TC (TC is for Tom Cove) is the motherboard we'll be looking at today. With an expected street price of $100, this board supports any Corei3 or i5 (LGA 1156) CPU, though the i5-750 will need a graphics card installed. It has a single PCIe x16 slot with two PCIe 1x slots, and a single PCI. It is the high-range mATX board in what Intel considers the "Media Series" for the Clarkdale CPU's.
The DH55TC has 4 slots of memory with support up to DDR3 1333MHz. You can see in the photo above all six of the SATA 3Gb/s ports. With six available USB ports and six more available via expansion headers, you should have plenty of connectivity!
Finally we have our I/O. On the left we have a combined PS2 port for Keyboard/Mouse, with two USB ports under it. Next to it on the right there is the VGA and DVI ports. In the middle is the HDMI 1.3 interface. On the right we have the other 4 USB ports, the 10/100/1000 LAN port, and the analog audio outputs. The analog audio output supports 5.1 + 2-channels.
