Intel Corp., according to a picture published over the Web, is going to change its logotypes and radically change the well-known ?Intel Inside?badge by redesigning the labels for all of its processors that are currently installed, or will be installed later. Another news is that Intel wants to call its next-generation mobile processor code-named Yonah as ?Core Solo?or ?Core Duo? depending on the number of processing engines it has.

Provided that the pictures, which were published by x86-secrets web-site are legitimate and reflect Intel Corp.'s plans, next year the world may see not only changes with Intel's logotypes, but some kind of shift in the company's positioning.

At present ?Intel Inside?badge contains both words in a in a circle located next to each other. The forthcoming logotypes will place the words in a way that both will no longer be directly associated to each other.

Intel's ?Intel Inside?marketing program along with the logo was introduced back in 1991 and provided certain co-ad benefits to both Intel and its partners among system makers. The emblem not only helped Intel to showcase that the world's most powerful personal computers (PCs) come with Intel Inside, but also allowed to develop its name into the world's No. 5 brand-name that currently costs $35.5 billion, according to Business Week journal and Interbrand agency.

Today, being capable of producing more chips than anyone else in the industry, and targeting markets that include handhelds for gaming, office workstations, PCs for entertainment and even datacenters serving aerospace industries, Intel no longer wants to position itself as ?Intel Inside?something: the company wants to emphasize that it is now virtually everywhere, which is why new logotypes, do not contain term ?Intel Inside? Still, they now proclaim ?Pentium Inside? which still highlights that one of the company's products is inside a computer.

Apparently, Intel's highly-anticipated Yonah chip will not be called Intel Pentium M, but will be sold under ?Core Duo?and ?Core Solo?trade-marks, according to the published pictures. In fact, the web-site of U.S. Patent and Trademark Office already contains claims that Intel owns??Core?and ?Core Inside?trade-marks.?While the reason why Intel decided to change its Pentium M brand-name when it comes to Yonah is unclear, perhaps, them main idea is to showcase that the Yonah is significantly different from the current Pentium M based on the Dothan core.

The new logotypes are highly likely to be published and advertised sometime in early 2006.
