Test Setup
The Leadtek WinFast PX6800 Ultra and the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra reference card featured in this review were both tested using the following configurations:
Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz (Extreme Edition)
Intel D925XCV
1GB DDR2-533 RAM (Micron)
Seagate 7200.7 80GB SATA
Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 and DirectX 9.0c were installed on the test system. The NVIDIA ForceWare driver used for both cards was 71.24. The following benchmarks were tested:
Futuremark 3DMark03 (ver. 340)
Futuremark 3DMark05 (ver. 120)
Unreal Tournament 2004 Demo
FarCry 1.1
Doom 3
Do remember that the Leadtek WinFast PX6800 Ultra has 512MB of memory but that is clocked at 1050MHz DDR while the NVIDIA reference card has 256MB at 1100MHz. No doubt, this handicap will definitely have an impact on its performance in our benchmarks as we shall see in the forthcoming pages.
