Results - FarCry 1.31 (DirectX 9 Benchmark)
The performance of all the cards for FarCry was generally similar at lower resolutions and settings, as the bottleneck probably lies with the processor. Without anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing, the differences between them only became telling at a resolution of 1280 x 1024 and above and arguably, only significant at 1600 x 1200. The extra pipelines of the unlocked Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO2 enabled the card to lead this benchmark, a couple of frames ahead of the faster clocked but 12-pipelined HIS Radeon X800 GTO. This scenario was duplicated when anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing was enabled but the differences were obvious even at 1024 x 768 then. Again, the unlocked 16-pipelined version turned out to have a massive advantage over the 12-pipelined version, with an average lead of 23%.
