Overclocking
Going strictly by the raw magnitude of the overclock, we have to say that the Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO Fireblade was the most overclockable of all the cards, with a core clock of 595MHz and memory speeds of 1250MHz. This was to be expected given the heavy-duty two-slot cooler used. Unfortunately, that was not sufficient to secure the top position in terms of performance, as the Sapphire Radeon GTO2 was still the leader thanks to its extra 4 pipelines. Its overall overclocking was also quite respectable, making the GTO2 a very exciting prospect. Unsurprisingly, the passively cooled Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO Ultimate fared the worst for overclocking while the vanilla Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO was actually quite overclockable, with a core clock that was only a shade behind the Fireblade.
