[Abstract]
Final Thoughts & Conclusions The Radeon HD 5700 series performed very well throughout our testing on the five games and two synthetic tests we ran on the cards.  In fact the Radeon HD 575...

5700 Series Overclocking

ATI Radeon HD 5770 & 5750 Review

To overclock the ATI Radeon HD 5750 and 5770 graphics cards, we used the ATIOverdrive utility that is part of the CATALYST Control Center. When you'unlock' the ATI Overdrive, you can manually set the clock and memorysettings or let the 'auto-tune' utility set the frequencies for you.

Just for fun, we tried out the auto-tune feature to see if it couldreally find a stable clock configuration, and it worked in just a fewminutes and did not lock up the system. This utility determines thehighest core and memory clock frequency that is stable and shows youwhat the GPU temperature is and how much load the GPU is under duringtesting. I started out at the default settings of 700 MHz on the core and1150 MHz on the memory, but was able to reach 860MHz on the core and1255MHz on the GDDR5 memory. This is a 160MHz overclock on the coreand a 105MHz boost on the GDDR5 memory ICs. Let's take a look at the Radeon HD 5770 to see how it overclocks!

We started out at the default settings of 850MHz on the core and1200MHz on the memory. We then fired up Auto-Tune to see how high the utility can overclock the graphics card.

We were able to reach 950 MHz on the core and1235 MHz on the GDDR5 memory. This is a 100MHz overclock on the coreand just a mild 35MHz boost on the GDDR5 memory ICs.  It is likely this card has a 'bad' overclocking memory IC on it as the memory overclock was not that impressive.

Overall we are happy with the overclocking experience of the Radeon HD 5700 series as the core clocks on both cards were able to be overclocked by at least 100 MHz!
