The Sapphire Radeon HD 5750
The reference ATI Radeon HD 5750 features a dual slot cooler that has an interesting design to it. The PCB of theRadeon HD 5770 is 7.1875" in length, which makes it nearly four inchesshorter than the Radeon HD 5870 and exactly one inch shorter than the Radeon HD 5770.
Our friends at Sapphire also sent us their retail version of the Radeon HD 5750, which was nice as it gave us a chance to see how a custom designed GPU cooler performs. The sku number on this card is 11164-00 in case anyone is curious on the exact model that we are looking at in addition to the reference card.
One of the best features of the Sapphire Radeon HD 5750 video card is the fact that it comes with a product key for the PC game Colin McRae: DiRT 2. For a $129 the fact you get a full game title with the video card is amazing!
The back of the Sapphire Radeon HD 5750 has four GDDR5 memory ICs on it along with the serialnumber sticker on it in case the card ever needs to be RMA'd. ATICrossFire will be supported via the two interconnects located on thetop right of the card as you can also see in the image above. On theright motherboard you will be able to run up to four of these graphicscards from CrossFire X.
The Sapphire Radeon HD 5750 graphics card has a pair of dual-link DVI-I outputsalong with DisplayPort and HDMI outputs. You can run a D-Sub outputwith an adapter. The exhaust vent hole doesn't do too much on this card as the hot air from the GPU is blown out all around the cooler and not vented outside the chassis. The Radeon HD 5750 supportsATI Eyefinity for multi-monitor gaming, but be sure to have one monitorthat features DisplayPort or have an expensive adapter ready. The Sapphire Radeon HD 5750 has one 6-pin PCI-E power connectors onit that is required for operation. The 6-pin connector is located on the top right edge of the graphics card and is easy to get to. A 450W or larger power supply isrecommended by AMD and a list of suggested power supply units can befound here. If you want to run CrossFire a power supply of at least 600W that has two 6-pin connectors is recommended.
Our reference ans Sapphire Radeon HD 5750 video cards came with Hynix H5GQ1H24ADR GDDR5 SDRAM installed on them. The speed rating on these IC's is T2C, which means they are rated at 2.5GHz by Hynix under normal power and operating temperatures.
