I used this benchmark back in April 2009 in my original coverage ofthe GeForce 275 versus the Radeon HD 4890, but some new patches havecome out that have greatly impacted performance. I also didn't show thedifferences between DX9, DX10 and DX10.1 the first time around, butthis time I will.
For this game VSync was turned off, but Antialiasing was turned on and set to 8x for better image quality.
All of the DirectX 10 options were set tohigh including Ambient occlusion (SSAO) on both the NVIDIA and ATIgraphics cards. The game was patched with update v1.2, which was themost current patch.
Benchmark Results: HAWXis another game that shines with more than two GPU's in the system. The Radeon HD 5700 series in CrossFire perform slightly better than their Radeon HD 5800 series counter-parts as you can see from the results shown above. The Radeon HD 5750 once again performs better than the GeForce GTS 250 OC. At a screen resolution of 1920x1200 on a 24" LCD monitor the Radeon HD 5750 was 43% faster than a GeForce GTS 250 OC!
