Twice the power of current generationDigiTimes is reporting that NVIDIA will unveil their next-generation parts at Computex which begins at the end of the month
Market sources indicated that the Nvidia G70 should deliver twice the performance of the current flagship series, the GeForce 6800. The chips will be built using a 0.11-micron process at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) ...
the G70 may begin volume shipments in the latter half of the third quarter at the earliest and will retail for US$549.
Good news is that it does not look like the pricing of the boards will be a significant jump above the 6800 Ultra. It'll be interesting to see how much of a performance gap there is between something like a pair of 6800GTs compared to one of these boards since it sounds like it will be fairly close if the double the power claim is correct and with some boards hitting the 300$ price range, it's going to be in the same ballpark in terms of cost also and may make more sense for current 6800GT owners.
