939 obsolescence pushed backThe upcoming transition to the new Socket M2 standard by AMD has reportedly been moved back by a few months. The transition will bring new dual core, single-core, and Sempron 64 bit processors to market by around the late spring of next year. Once the new socket arrives, AMD is not expected to make new processors for Socket 939 motherboards, though they claim that they will be making 'performance' and Sempron chips for the current standard through the first half of 2007.
