Will the last Intel-only tier one vendor crack?The Inq is running a speculation piece that Dell may soon start offering AMD based systems.
They base their posting on a Chinese news story that Dell hardware partners like Asus, Quanta and Foxconn have started working on AMD based devices for Dell.
Frankly, given how long Dell has stayed away from AMD this report may just be wishful thinking - on the other hand Dell has to be hurting from not offering powerful Opteron servers.
The future will tell.
