Intel will start producing 865 entry level chipsets in Q4Due to market demand, Intel will apparently once again start producing its popular low cost 865 chipset for entry level systems. The new production runs will comply with the EU's RoHS hazardous substance legislation.
The new 975X high end chipset will apparently be released earlier then expected; Gigabyte may launch a board using the 975X mid Novemeber.
Digitimes also reports that a Current Analysis report states that AMD may strengthen its position with upcoming?<$400 systems to be sold in Wal-Mart; AMD passed Intel by 1.3% in processors shipped for the US retail PC market.
