Inno3D GeForce 8800 GTX
Inno3D has been selling NVIDIA based graphics for quite some time now and their products usually seem to be priced reasonably or even slightly lower than the competition. Like all the GeForce 8800 GTX cards in our comparison, it is clocked at the standard 575/1800MHz DDR, with a simple but striking decal. Like we expected, the price of the Inno3D GeForce 8800 GTX was middle of the road at S$999 (US$646). It also came with a fairly recent game, Commandos Strike Force, but we do have to comment on Inno3D's taste in game, as the bundled shooter, seems to have garnered rather dubious ratings on gaming websites, like Gamespot. Nevertheless, the accessories are complete and it certainly looks like a competent package overall.

Leadtek WinFast PX8800 GTX TDH
Another of the more popular brands locally due to its performance and price, Leadtek too has a GeForce 8800 GTX offering. Unlike the WinFast GeForce 8800 GTS that we reviewed before, the box packaging loses the irritating shimmer that had us squinting. However, despite the new hardware, much of the bundle should be familiar to most Leadtek watchers, as they have appeared in other Leadtek products before. But we guess there's little need to change a winning formula so for the bundle and its usual two-year warranty, you can expect to pay around S$999 (US$646).
A slightly bigger box than the Leadtek GeForce 8800 GTS but thankly, the eyesore shimmer is gone. |
