Eyeballing the DRW-1608P

The design of the DRW-1608P hasn't changed at all from the heydays of the '88s' (8x8x DVD writers) where the older ASUS DRW-0804P had exactly the same faceplate as the one shown here. Noticeable exterior difference between the two lies in the length where the DRW-1608P is now 18mm shorter than its 8x predecessor reviewed here back in April 2004. ASUS' Flextralink, Flextraspeed and Liquid Tilt crystal technologies for high-quality writing and reliable reading have all been migrated over to the DRW-1608P as well.
