Elsa Falcox PX80 XL
We start off our roundup with a look at the Elsa Falcox PX80 XL, which is your typical RADEON X800 XL card. Elsa used a sizable, full aluminum cooler that did an excellent job, giving it the third best temperature readings in our tests without resorting to any help from third party cooling specialists. While many cards failed to implement active cooling for their memory chips, Elsa's cooler encompassed the forward RAM chips though unfortunately not for the rear. Hence, we see a differential of more than 10 degrees between them and attest to the efficacy of the cooler. In any case, we found the Elsa Falcox PX80 XL to be a decent overclocker that won't set your pulses racing but it runs cool and quiet enough at its given frequencies and we have to give it credit.
Presenting the Elsa Falcox PX80 XL. |
Unlike some of its flashier rivals, Elsa preferred a plain aluminum cooler. |
The bundle Elsa has included has all the necessary cables and accessories while the games are not too shabby or outdated. It may not be the most attractive of bundles but it covers all the bases, leaving us reasonably satisfied.
Cables from left to right: 7-pin mini-DIN to HDTV component dongle, mini-DIN to Composite converter and a DVI-to-VGA adaptor. |
We found 2 extension cables, one S-Video and one Composite in the package. |
Elsa also provided a decent software bundle. |
