Connect3D RADEON X800 PRO 256MB

Veteran PC users normally have all the software, utilities and perhaps even games that they need and can easily do without any software bundles. If you are one of them, then perhaps you should check out Connect3D's products, which comes in a modest package:-

Connect3D also sported 2ns memory chips.

The Connect3D RADEON X800 PRO 256MB is a normal graphics card without video capturing capabilities, just like the ABIT card we've seen on the page before. The card itself is an exact replica of an original ATI product, right down to its decorative faceplate. The memory parts used o this card are the same Samsung 2ns DDR3 chips, but surprisingly, the Connec3D is able to overclock well beyond the memory's specs. For a no-frills card, good overclocking is a strong asset and again it bodes well for the Veterans too. We'll detail more on the actual numbers later through the review.

Here's what you'll find in the small box package of the Connect3D RADEON X800 PRO graphics card:-

  • DVI-I to VGA adapter
  • S-Video to Composite converter
  • Component-output cable dongle
  • S-Video extension cable
  • Composite extension cable
  • Y-Power cable splitter
  • Connect3D RADEON X800 PRO ?Getting Started Guide
  • Driver CD

Though there was no software provided besides the drivers CD, Connect3D provides a full set of cable accessories to get you going. It seems to us that ATI is ensuring all the cards have a standard cable set and we can see the similarities among all the cards rounded up for this shootout. In any case, it's a good move and we applaud the availability of all necessary cables within the product package.

The cable package is as follows, from top left to right: Y-Power cable splitter, S-Video extension cable, Composite extension cable and Component-output cable dongle. At the bottom row: S-Video to Composite converter plug, DVI-I to DB15 VGA adapter.
